Making a Booking on HothamBus or FallsBus

Can I change my booking?
Fully flexible fares and packaged holiday product can be changed by emailing or calling our call centre between May & October. Advance purchase fares are not date changeable 14 days prior to travel, while Go Fares are totally non date changeable.

How many people do we need for a group booking?
A discount applies to bookings of 8 adults and over. Enquire via our Groups page.

How do I receive the tickets?
When you complete your online booking you will automatically receive an email with a PDF attachment.

What is the Resort Entry?
Everyone that goes to Hotham or Falls Creek needs to pay the resort entry fee. Falls Creek is included in the pricing, Hotham Alpine Resort is payable on entry to resort as of 20/02/2014 resort entry has not been set, but may be $12 per adult per day & $6 for children.

What luggage am I allowed to take?
1 suitcase, skis/snowboard, and a pair of boots as well as a small bag to take on board. Any extra luggage needs to be pre arranged. Please contact HothamBus 0418 268 221. Drivers have the right to refuse excess luggage. But we also understand you are on a skiing holiday and excess luggage is required to enjoy your experience.

Can I take or give HothamBus / FallsBus freight to take up to Mt. Hotham or Falls Creek?
We do take freight for a fee depending on the day and service. Please call the reservation centre on 0418 268 221 to arrange.

Can I cancel my ticket?
Refunds - Refer to individual tours terms on refunds, but as an over view Express seats are non refundable except for "Fully Flexible" fares, which upon cancelling your journey 24 hours in advance a full refund will be provided within 36 hours. Holiday packages or weekend ski tours are fully refundable within 14 days of purchase if outside of 60 days prior to travel. 60 to 30 days prior to travel a 50% cancelation fee applies, with 80% for 29 to 15 days prior & 100% for bookings cancelled within 14 days of travel. Non travel products i.e., Ski Hire, Lift tickets etc are totally refundable up to 24 hours prior to booked date.

Can I use my ticket next season?
Unfortunately not.

What happens if there is no snow at Mt. Hotham or Falls Creek?
If there are fewer than 5 lifts operating at Hotham, due to lack of snow, three days prior to travel, you can elect to either postpone your booking (tickets valid for current season only) or cancel your booking and receive a full refund except for Advance Purchase or Go Fares.

Travelling on HothamBus & FallsBus

Is there a toilet on the bus?
Maybe, if a large coach is scheduled - Then yes. If a mini coach is on the run, we'll stop when desired..

Will the Driver/Coach wait if my plane is delayed?
Unfortunately our coach and driver are under time restrictions and as such cannot wait for passengers should your plane be delayed. It is recommended that as soon as you land at Melbourne or Albury Airport, to have your mobile phone switched on, as the driver has a list of all passengers’ mobile numbers for that coach departure. However, should your plane arrive when our coach is ready to leave, you will need to contact HothamBus (PH: 0418 268 221) and organise to catch the next available service. Note we will wait up to 30 minutes for VA308 ex Brisbane only if it is not on time for a 09.20 arrival.

Will there be a meal stop on the way up to Mt. Hotham or Falls Creek?
We cannot guarantee that there will be a meal stop. However if the coach is running on time there will be a break of 15 –30 minutes in Wangaratta.

What is multi share accommodation?
Budget accommodation with multiple single beds in one room with other guests of different gender un known to you.

Where does the bus depart from?
HothamBus stops at the following:
MELBOURNE CITY - Coach departs Southern Cross Station Coach Terminal from Bus Bay number 55 (bus bay number will show on your ticket), formally called Spencer Street Station, facilities include under cover bus bays/lockers/toilets/limited car parking.
MELBOURNE AIRPORT - Coach departs outside Parkroyal Hotel in the centre island (Charter Busses) at Tullamarine Airport. Driver is unable to leave coach at any time. Passengers please keep mobile phone on in case driver needs to contact you. Your flight must get in no later than 40 minutes before the coach departure time.
MYRTLEFORD - Coach departs near the Myrtleford Post Office at the VLine Bus Stop located on The Great Alpine Road, plus motels as per list.
BRIGHT - Coach departs out the front of the Alpine Hotel at the VLine Bus Stop near the main round-a-bout, plus motels as per list. (stop/change over for the Falls Creek Coach Service)
HARRIETVILLE - Coach departs from Hoys A Frame Ski Shop.
HOTHAM TOURIST LOUNGE - Central location of Mt Hotham. Undercover waiting area.
ARLBERG - For passengers arriving and departing staying at Arlberg, Fountains, Alpine Haven, 1750 and Razorback.
SPIRAL STAIRS - For passengers arriving and departing for Spiral Stairs, Blue Ribbon, Apea, Ormond, Aardvark and University Ski Lodges.
BIG D - Located near the General Store. For passengers arriving and departing from the northern end of the Davenport Village such as Kalyna, Koomerang, Asgaard, Tantani and Karnulurra Ski Lodges and the Pearse Apartments.
JACK FROST - The central stop for the Davenport Village which includes all lodges except the ones named above and below and the commercial apartments of Karoondah, Sun, Rangers and Lachen.
LANGI TAAN - The southern stop for Lodges including Langi-Taan, Rodondo, Tanderra, Ettamogah, Nindethana, Eiger, Eumarellah, The Lodge, Vagabond and Bembooka Ski Lodges. This is also the place to get off if staying in Moritz Apartments.
DINNER PLAIN – Onsen Spa.
FALLS CREEK – Accommodation Transfer Service Depot.
FALLS CREEK HOTELS & LODGES – Via over snow transport if selected with applicable surcharge.
