Nestling just below the summit of the 1861m Mount Hotham with 360 degree breathtaking views and 320 skiiable hectares, 13 lifts, 66 runs and 35km of cross country trails, this resort is a snow sports paradise. Snowmaking and grooming across 25ha let runs open earlier and last longer. With four terrain parks – lifted 245ha, beginners 20%, intermediate 40% and advanced 40%, the highest lifted point is 1,845m, and cross country trails vary from 2km to 15km. The double black diamond extreme terrain and steep valley runs here are legendary. For a break, or if the gentle pace is more your style, relax with a spa treatment either at Hotham or Dinner Plain with plunge and hot pools, sauna and gym. Go on a snow shoe tour through the snow gums and check out the old snow huts, keeping a look-out for kangaroos, wallabies, and possums. Or spot wedge-tailed eagles, kookaburras, and hawk owls. Hotham helicopters can take you to Falls Creek or on a heavenly scenic flight, and a ride on the Siberian Husky sled dog tours is a must. And what could be more romantic than a sparkling sunset tour?
Children 5 years and under and seniors 70 years and over ski for free. Daycare is available 7 days a week and a babysitting service is available. With the Kids Snowzone, there is a safe place for kids to learn to ski or snowboard with childcare workers and qualified instructors. There are mini snowmobile rides and tobogganing, and Harry the Snowdragon sings and dances, with fun and games live on stage, especially suitable for 3-5 year olds. The fun keeps on coming with firework shows, dog sledding at Dinner Plain, night skiing, sunset tours, kat skiing, snow grooming tours, and cross country skiing.
